Will the dvd recorder - vcr combo have to be HDTV compatable? - 2009 best dvd recorders

I plan to buy the DVD - Video player and need help in choosing a user-friendly system. In addition, it will become obsolete in 2009 when all television is HDTV? CD-RW can be used as a DVD?

First, all TVs will be HDTV. On February 17, 2009, the TV stations will stop broadcasting in analog and begin broadcasting digitally. You will receive digital television (DTV). The only people who might this affect people who use an antenna to receive the signal. If you receive cable or satellite, may continue to broadcast in analog until at least 2012th If they decide otherwise, need to know.

Second, digital television is not HDTV. HDTV is the high quality of DTV. There are two levels - SDTV and HDTV. After February 17, 2009, all new televisions be equipped with a digital tuner. Most new TVs are now digital tuners in them, and most new HDTV compatible, but you have to pay extra for their services to HDTV.

Thirdly, with the major studios switching to Blu-Ray, it is better to buy a Blu-Ray player, not a DVD. If you record TV programs to get a TiVo.

Finally, no CD-RW can not be used as a DVD. There is a DIFdifferent formats. The DVD recorder is able to read CD-RW, but not likely to be able to save him.
